They live by the sea

They live on the sea.
Man and wife.
On ebb-tides.
And salmon.
And bread and wine.

They live by the sea.
Man and wife.
By rock.
By pebble.
By leather couch.
And television.

It comes and it goes.
Morning noon and night.
By their sides
The waves dry.
Like sparkling wines.
On sandspeckles.

They drive by the sea.
Man and wife.
And SUV.
In search of whole foods.
And expressways.

They talk to the sea.
Man and wife.
Sweet nothings.
And the waves dry.
On sandspeckles.
Like sparkling wine.
